Closed Issue: DropInstallLogin() not case insensitive [9511]

The GetGroupMembers(..) function returns an upper case list of group members. If the user has a lower/mixed case username it will get disabled but not dropped. I fixed it by adding a UCase() around strLogin in the Instr check.

The problem was caused by a previous install of SQL Server that put the SQL Tools on a different disk. FineBuild did not check this situation, but it is now fixed in FineBuild v3.0.2.

Hi,

Can you attach the full FineBuild log file and XML file (probably in E:\Program Files\FineBuildLogs) and SQL Server install Summary file (probably in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap)

This will help me to debug your problem.

Closed Issue: strInstance is used before it is initialized in FineBuild2InstallSQL.vbs [8986]

strInstance is set on line 207 in FineBuild2InstallSQL.vbs but it is used on line 201 of FineBuild2InstallSQL.vbs.

Here's the snippet:

line 201: strFSShareName = GetParam(Null, "FileStreamShareName", "FS" & strInstance)
line 207: strInstance = GetBuildfileValue("Instance")

This works fine when you create a single instance because the FilestreamShareName is set to "FS" but if you try to create a second instance you get an install error saying that the share "FS" has already been created.

This will be fixed in FineBuild v3.0.1.

To fix this problem in FineBuild v3.0.0:

1) Edit FineBuild2InstallSQL.vbs

2) Locate the line:
strHKLM = &H80000002

3) Insert the line:
strInstance = GetBuildfileValue("Instance")
