Configure SQL Instance Database Properties

FineBuild can Configure Database Properties of the SQL Server Instance.

The SQL Instance Database properties should be reviewed to confirm that they have not been changed from the default values shown.

FineBuild Configure SQL Instance Database Properties

The SQL Instance Database Properties configuration relates to Process Id 5BD and is controlled by the parameters below:

Parameter Build SQL2005 SQL2008 SQL2008 R2 SQL2012 SQL2014
SetupSQLInst FULL Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
SetupSQLInst WORKSTATION Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
SetupSQLInst CLIENT N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A

In order to maintain compatibility with older versions of SQL FineBuild, the parameter ConfigSQLInst can also be used.

FineBuild also uses the following parameters to help configure SQL Database Properties:
Parameter Default Description
DrvData Drive letter for database data files. See /Drv... Parameters
DrvLog Drive letter for database log files. See /Drv... Parameters
DirSQL SQLFiles High-level folder name for SQL Server files

The DrvData, DrvLog and DirSQL parameters are used during the SQL Server install process to define the folders used for database files, as shown below:
Model Example
DrvData\DirSQL\MSSQL.MSSQLSERVER.Data J:\SQLFiles\MSSQL.MSSQLSERVER.Data
DrvLog\DirSQL\MSSQL.MSSQLSERVER.Log K:\SQLFiles\MSSQL.MSSQLSERVER.Log
