Install SSDT-BI

FineBuild can install and configure the SSDT-BI as part of the SQL Server install process.
If you do not want to include SSDT-BI in your FineBuild install, then do not download it.

SSDT-BI is written by Microsoft. It was chosen to be included in FineBuild because it is an essential tool for developing Business Intelligence workflows.

SQL FineBuild installs the RTM version of SSDT-BI released for Visual Studio 2013 (VS2013). The SSDT-BI install window has a title of SQL Server 2014 Setup but only components required for SSDT-BI can be installed. For reasons best known to Microsoft, the SSDT-BI install will install both VS2012 and VS2013.

If you install SSDT-BI, it is suggested that you also Install BIDS Helper. BIDS Helper adds useful additional functionality to SSDT-BI.

A number of web pages exist that describe pre-release versions of SSDT-BI, but at the time of writing very little can be found about the RTM version.
