FineBuild execution through software distributions tools.

description

Hi,

Is it possible to execute the finebuild scripts using an agent which runs under the System Account? I get error messages such as below:

SqlConfigBuild.vbs(4035, 7) : ERROR: SQL FineBuild must be run using Administrator priviliges

I made a RunAs wrapper to execute SQLFineBuild.bat with the local Administrator account but then it fails with a different error:

SqlConfigBuild.vbs(489, 3) WshShell.RegRead: Unable to open registry key "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Desktop" for reading.

If I logon to the server and run the FineBuild script while logged on with an Administrator account, the installation succeeds.

Is there a way to force the installation to run under the system account?

Thank you.

Potential fixes coded in SqlConfigBuild but not yet tested.

Confirmed now working for all OS and SQL versions. To be included in next FineBuild release

Tested using 'PSEXEC -i -s -d CMD' to open CMD window using Local System authority. FineBuild run as normal from this CMD window, it can now identify Local System authority and run without error.
