Setup failing / hanging at 1ED (v3.3.0B2)

Aug 13, 2015 at 7:26 AM

I am running Finebuild V3.3.0B2 on a Windows 2012 Server for SQL 2012. The server is not on a domain and the account I am using is the local admin account.

It seems that the process is hanging at 1ED. (I let it run overnight and it was still in the same place as when I left it)

I am using the following commandline and have not done any preparation beyond building the SQL media.
CALL "SQLFineBuild.bat" %* /Type:Workstation /IAcceptLicenseTerms /SAPWD:"Pa$$w0rd" /VolProg:D /debug:yes
The log file can be found here

The process log can be found here

As can be seen in the process log it seems to be stopping on this line
If I run this line manually in an admin window I get the following message
Ldap Error(0x51 -- Server Down): ldap_connect
Failed to retrieve DN for domain "" : 0x00000051
Warning: No valid targets specified, reverting to current domain.
FindDomainForAccount: Call to DsGetDcNameWithAccountW failed with return value 0
Unable to locate account S4ZAC3SYDB07
I am going to try the stable version now, hoping it is something in the Beta version causing the failure.

This is a bug in the FineBuild processing for non-domain servers. It has been fixed for the next version of FineBuild that will be released. Thank you for reporting this.

The fix is to prevent FineBuild from adding the trailing '.' to the server name if there is no user DNS domain.

Also, please accept my apologies for the slow response. The Codeplex notifications for discussions and issues seem to have stopped working and I have relied on these to alert me about new items.
