Install Remaining SQL Server Cluster Nodes

Adding nodes to an existing cluster is less work than creating the first node. The normal SQLFineCluster script can be used, but with one additional parameter. This process should be repeated for each node on the Windows cluster.

The primary node of the cluster must be active in order to add a SQL Server node to the cluster.

1) Log on to the new cluster node using an account that is a member of the local Administrators group and which has domain Account Operator rights.

2) Complete all the non-automated processes described in Cluster Install Preparation. The automated portions of Preparatory Tasks will be performed by the SQLFineCluster script.

3) Add the new node to the SQL cluster.
CALL "SQLFineCluster.bat" %* /IAcceptLicenseTerms /Action:AddNode

Notes:
a) The account names and passwords specified for the service accounts must match those used for the first node of the cluster.
b) It is recommended that all other accounts used on additional nodes (e.g. xp_cmdshell proxy, etc) are the same as that used on the first node of the cluster.
c) The software configuration of all nodes in the cluster should be identical.
d) FineBuild will work out which of the parameters in the SQLFineCluster script need to be used to add the additional node to the SQL cluster.
e) If you are installing a SQL 2005 cluster, you MUST have rebooted the primary cluster node before running this install, otherwise the SQL install will fail. This is a restriction with SQL2005 only.
4) Complete the Residual Interactive Tasks given for Main Instance Server Build.

5) If SSRS has been installed, then configure SSRS to run on the cluster node.
